New Trends in the Russian Market
The Russian market of navigation products and services is developing rapidly. It is promoted by the government’s investment in the creation of national navigation and information systems, which aims to ensure transport safety and efficiency. Starting in 2014, about 40 million vehicles are going to be equipped with the ERA GLONASS terminals – Russia’s equivalent of the European eCALL rapid accidents assistance initiative. This will provide Starcom the opportunity to install in each of these cars its exclusive hi-tech car locator, the Helios Advanced Plus system.

Starcom systems is happy to announce that as of Feb. 27th 2013, its shares have begun trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange (LN:STAR). On March 4th Starcom was honored to officially open the trading week of the London Stock Exchange. This means that Starcom Systems is now officially a public company!

In order to reach this status, a company needs to prove its strong ability and to reassure profit to its shareholders; as well, it also means that it is managed fairly and transparently, therefore it can be easily monitored.

Starcom Online for Mobile was first made available to our thousands of clients on November 2010, and enabled a mobile friendly interface for locating devices (car tracking / containers tracking) on the map.

This is a free service as a part of the online application. Starcom Systems’ mobile user gets an interface specially tailored for smartphones. This unique feature enables the user to gain the desired flexibility. By simply using the mobile browser and visiting Starcom Online, it automatically detects the browser used as a mobile browser, and presents the mobile edition.

Previously, in order to get a valid fuel tank status, the system installers had to take during the installation, a few electrical measurements of the fuel gauge, in order to be able to convert its input (in voltages) into a human readable value of the fuel tank’s status (in percentages). This process prolonged the time of installation, and was exposed to mistakes.

The new Automatic Fuel Calibration revolutionizes this process. It allows a rapid installation of the system without the need for on-site measurements. After a couple of weeks from the installation (or after three refueling cycles), the Starcom Online system is now able to automatically calculate the calibration values based on the accumulated data during that period.

To access this Starcom Online feature, go to Resources – Units, edit the Helios unit you wish to calibrate, and you will find the new feature under the “Captions” section.
